Math Sprint
Math Sprint · 4 levels
Fifteen sums in sixty seconds: add and take away numbers from 2 to 20. Get one wrong and the game shows you how to work it out.
Start easy and work up. Harder levels have more questions and score more points.
Answer as many as you can before time runs out. Keys 1 to 4 work too.
Every answer comes with a short explanation, and the clock stops while you read it.
Three in a row builds a streak bonus. Every level has its own leaderboard.
This is the first level of Math Sprint, made for children in P1 to P3. Every question adds or takes away two numbers between 2 and 20, and the four answers to choose from are the mistakes children really make, such as being one out or adding instead of taking away.
When an answer is wrong, the game explains the sum. For adding it shows counting on from the first number; for taking away it shows the check of adding back, so 15 − 6 = 9 because 9 + 6 = 15.
A round is 15 questions in 60 seconds. The questions are made fresh every round, so a whole class can play without everyone getting the same sums. When it feels easy, move on to the times tables level.
It is pitched at P1 to P3 (about ages 6 to 9): adding and taking away numbers from 2 to 20.
