Math Sprint
Math Sprint · 4 levels
Multiply before you add: twenty questions in ninety seconds on the order of operations, percentages, square numbers and division.
Start easy and work up. Harder levels have more questions and score more points.
Answer as many as you can before time runs out. Keys 1 to 4 work too.
Every answer comes with a short explanation, and the clock stops while you read it.
Three in a row builds a streak bonus. Every level has its own leaderboard.
This is the S1 level of Math Sprint. Its signature question is a sum like 3 + 4 × 5, where the multiplication must be done first: 4 × 5 = 20, then add 3, so the answer is 23, not 35. That rule is the M-before-A part of BODMAS (also called BIDMAS or PEMDAS). The questions here have no brackets.
One of the wrong answers on offer is always the classic mistake of working left to right, so a miss tells you exactly what went wrong, and the game explains the right order. The other questions are percentages of a number, square numbers up to 15² and division facts.
A round is 20 questions in 90 seconds, with new questions every time, and the level scores two and a half times the points of the first level.
23. Multiplication comes before addition, so work out 4 × 5 = 20 first, then add 3. Working left to right gives 35, which is the most common mistake.
No. The questions practise doing multiplication before addition; there are no brackets or powers inside the sums.
