Plan a picture like an artist: balance its shapes, show near and far with perspective and a vanishing point, and draw people and objects in the right proportion.
Use a free drawing program on a school computer or laptop to design a motif inspired by imigongo, repeat it into patterns, choose strong colours and save your design, or make it on squared paper if there is no computer.
Make block letters jump off the page in 3D, first by hand and then with a vanishing point, learn what makes a signpost easy to read, and design your own signpost or poster on a computer or on card.
Get to know the tools of hand sewing and how to use a needle safely, learn the main hand stitches, sew a button on firmly using backstitch, and mend a split seam or a torn piece of cloth with running stitch.
Feel the beat and group it into bars, read the two numbers of a time signature, and read, clap, conduct and write music in two-four, three-four and four-four time.
Meet the bass clef and name the notes on the bass staff, then join the treble and bass staves into the grand staff, find middle C in both places, and read and write notes for both hands.
Practise on a keyboard, a piano or a paper keyboard you make yourself: use finger numbers, play the C scale with each hand, read simple melodies in C and play songs with both hands.
