Read the staff, name notes on the treble and bass staves and on ledger lines, recognise note and rest values from the semibreve to the semiquaver, and sol-fa a short melody by pitch and rhythm.

Simple Time Signatures

Feel the beat and group it into bars, read two-four, three-four and four-four time signatures, check that every bar adds up, write rhythm in tonic sol-fa, and perform simple melodies in time.

Pitch Relationships

Find any note on the keyboard, measure tones and semitones, read sharps, flats and naturals, recognise enharmonic notes, name simple intervals by number and quality, and play simple tunes with the right hand, the left hand and both hands while singing the sol-fa.
