Start where you sleep tonight. You will name the people in your home, learn what a nuclear family is, and say what everyone does to help.
Step outside your door. You will learn what a village is, that many villages make a cell, and who leads the place where you live.
Rwanda has three special signs of its own. You will learn the anthem, the flag and the coat of arms, and how to show them respect.
Your school has its own leaders and its own signs. You will learn who does what, and what your badge, uniform and motto say about your school.
Soap, water and a towel keep you healthy. You will learn how to keep your body clean, and how to keep your home and your school clean too.
Living well with other people is something you practise. You will learn to share, to take turns, to say sorry and to solve a problem by talking.
Kind words open every door. You will learn how to welcome a visitor, behave well at the table, greet people properly, and use please, thank you and sorry.
Every family needs food, water, a home, clothes and care. You will learn what a family needs, what money does, and how to look after the things you own.
Look around your home and your school. You will name what is there, and learn how to keep both places clean, safe and beautiful.
People travel and messages travel too. You will learn the four kinds of road, why roads matter, and the things that carry our words.
Your family has a story from before you were born. You will learn what family history is, name the big days, and go and ask a grown-up for yours.
This is where Religious Education begins. You will learn how the world was created in six days, why people are special, and how to care for everything that was made.
Prayer is talking to God. You will learn what to say, when and where people pray, and how to make a short prayer in your own words.
The biggest unit of the year. You will learn what peace and honesty look like at school, at home and in your village, and why they let everybody live well.
