Find your way around Settings
Settings has your public profile, personal info, school and class, notifications, password, family links and connected accounts.
- Everyone
Step 1: On a computer, click your profile picture at the top right, then Settings. On a phone, open the menu and tap Settings at the bottom.
Step 2: Choose a section from the list. On a phone the sections are a row of buttons at the top: swipe it sideways to see them all.
Step 3: Change what you need. In Public profile and Personal info, a bar appears: tap Save changes, or Discard to undo.
Public profile
Step 1: Change your picture with Change photo, and edit Full name and About me.
Step 2: This is what classmates, teachers and friends see.
Personal info
Step 1: Add your Phone number, City or town, Gender and Date of birth.
Step 2: Only you and your school can see these.
Step 3: Your Email is shown but can't be changed here, because you sign in with it.
School & class
Step 1: Change who you are, your country, your school and your class (or your age, for learners). Tap Save.
Notifications
Step 1: Turn chat emails on or off. Switches here save as soon as you flip them.
Password
Step 1: Change your password. You need your current one.
Family
Step 1: Students: tap Invite a parent to make a code for your parent.
Step 2: Parents: type your child's code in Child's code and tap Link.
Connected accounts
Step 1: Link your GitHub username to show your work on your profile.
