Practise for the national exam the way it really feels. This paper follows the structure, question types, marks and timing of the NESA Senior 6 (A-Level) Geography exam.
These questions simulate the national exam. They are original Ganzaa questions written in the same format as the NESA papers — not the official NESA papers, and not endorsed by NESA. The official papers stay free on our past papers page.
10 versions of every question, so each attempt is a fresh paper with the same structure.
180 minutes, 100 marks, the same sections and question types as the national exam.

Sample 1 · Coastal processes
Choose the correct answer.
The zig-zag movement of sand and pebbles along a beach caused by waves approaching the shore at an angle is called:
Answer: A. Longshore drift
Swash carries material up the beach at an angle and backwash pulls it straight down, so it moves along the coast in a zig-zag: longshore drift (a form of transportation). Abrasion, attrition and hydraulic action are erosion processes.
Sample 2 · Earth movements and coastal deposition
Choose the correct answer.
Sudden slipping of rock masses along a fracture in the Earth's crust most directly produces which of the following?
Answer: A. Earthquakes
When stress builds up along a fault and the rocks suddenly slip, the stored energy is released as seismic waves — an earthquake. Ocean currents, cyclones and breezes are caused by the atmosphere and oceans, not by fault movement.
Sample 3 · Rock formation
Choose the correct answer.
Which process forms sandstone?
Answer: D. Layers of sand grains are deposited, compacted and cemented together
Sandstone is a sedimentary rock: sand grains are deposited in layers, buried, compacted and cemented. Cooling of magma or lava forms igneous rocks; heat and pressure form metamorphic rocks.
