Motor Control
Lesson 1 of 3
15 min
Let's begin
The bell rings. It is PE time!
Mugisha runs out to the field. "Let's play football!" he shouts.
"Wait," says the teacher. "First, we wake up our bodies."
Grown-up: read this aloud. Show each move first. Then do it together.
You need: a flat, open space with no stones.
Stand in a spot. Put your arms out wide, like wings.
Turn around slowly. Can you touch anyone? No? This is your own space.
The teacher calls an animal. You move like it.
Moving makes your body warm. Now it is ready to play.
March for 10 steps. Say "left, right, left, right".
You are all motos. Hold your hands out like handlebars.
Did you wobble? Do two star jumps and play on. Nobody is out.
Walk slowly in a big circle. Put your hand on your chest.
Can you feel your heart? Boom, boom, boom! Breathe slowly. Your heart slows down.
Moving every day makes your body strong. It helps you feel happy. It helps you sleep well too.
Warning
Safety first! Stay in your own space. Put your arms out. If you touch nobody, you are safe.
Tip
Warm up first!
