Poser des questions
Lesson 3 of 4
15 min
Byiringiro loves football. Every morning he asks his teacher the same question.
« Madame, quand est-ce qu’on joue au football ? »

Byiringiro : « Madame, quand est-ce qu’on joue au football ? »
Madame Umutoni : « À la récréation, Byiringiro. »
Byiringiro : « Et le grand match contre l’école de Gatenga, c’est quand ? »
Madame Umutoni : « C’est demain, l’après-midi. »
Byiringiro : « Demain ? Super ! Merci, madame ! »
On joue means we play. Le grand match means the big match.

You know le matin, le soir and la nuit from Unit 1!

Keza : « Papa, l’umuganda, c’est quand ? »
Papa : « C’est samedi, le matin. »
Keza : « Et on mange quand ? »
Papa : « Ce soir ! »
On mange means we eat.
Say quand like kan. The qu sounds like k, and you do not hear the d.
Ask a big person three questions: « Le dîner, c’est quand ? », « L’école, c’est quand ? », « L’umuganda, c’est quand ? ».
Listen to each answer. Was it a time word?

Quand wants a when. Answer with a time word: maintenant, ce soir, demain, samedi.
