Wake up the French you learned in P5: tell someone about your day, say the date and the weather, talk about what you like and how you feel, say what you are going to do tomorrow, and tell the story of your holidays.
Talk about children's rights in French: the right to a name, to school, to health, to a home, to play and to protection. Read « La décision », the story of a village that changes, say what has just happened with « venir de », and make a poster of your rights and duties.
Travel around Africa and the world in French: name countries and nationalities, use the four cardinal points to place Rwanda and its neighbours on the map, make nationality words agree, and introduce yourself to a new friend.
Discover Rwanda's traditions in French: the intore dance, the drums and the inanga, the agaseke basket, imigongo art, traditional clothes, Umuganura and respect for elders. Use « on » to say what people do, spell verbs like acheter and jeter, and present a tradition you love.
Celebrate in French! Plan a surprise birthday party, read about the celebrations Rwandan families share, learn the dates of the year's big days, make describing words agree (un repas délicieux, une fête joyeuse), and play a miming game.
Talk about your free time and sport in French: name hobbies and sports, say what you like doing, use jouer au and faire du correctly, link your ideas with et, ou, mais, puis, parce que and car, and invite a friend to play.
Talk about phones, the Internet and social media in French: what they are for, the golden rules that keep you safe online, how your family uses the phone with et, ou, mais, parfois, quand and après, and the sounds [g] and [ʒ].
Visit a farm and Rwanda's national parks in French: name domestic and wild animals, make plurals like animaux, compare animals with plus … que, say what they are doing right now with être en train de, read an old story about the hippo, and practise the sounds [o] and [u].
Talk about your future in French: your plans for secondary school with aller + infinitive, the jobs you dream of, the futur simple and its special verbs, the silent h and the aspirated h, and the story of Magozwe, a boy who never gave up on his dream.
