My Body and My Clothes
Lesson 1 of 5
12 min
Let's begin
Uwase is in class. The teacher says a new word.
Uwase does not know it. Then the teacher touches her nose.
Uwase touches her nose too. Now she knows the word. Today you will learn your body, part by part.
Your body has many parts. Each part has a name in English.
Do not just say the word. Touch the part first. Then say it.
Touch the top of you. Say head.
Touch your hair. Say it.
Your face is the part people see.
Touch your two eyes. You see with your eyes.
Touch your two ears. You listen with your ears.
Careful! Eyes and ears sound almost the same. But they are not the same part. Eyes see. Ears listen. Touch them and say them again.
Touch your nose. Touch your mouth. Your mouth has teeth.
Now go down. Touch your neck.
Go down again. Touch your arm. You have two arms.
Your hand comes next. You have two hands. You clap with them.
Go down more. Touch your leg. You have two legs.
Your foot is the last one. You have two feet. You stamp with them.
Touch and say, one after one:
head, hair, face, eyes, ears, nose, mouth, neck, hand, arm, leg, foot
Say it again, faster. Do not stop touching!
Careful! Some children say every word and point to nothing. That is only a song, not English. Your hand must move every time.
Sing and touch. Listen for eyes, ears, mouth and nose.
Tip
Touch it, then say it
Your hand goes first. Your mouth goes after.
Did you say the word? Did your hand move? If your hand did not move, go again.
