Politeness
Lesson 3 of 4
10 min
Let's begin
Keza walks to school along the red path.
An old man is coming the other way.
Keza looks down at her feet and says nothing.
Today you will learn the greeting words.
Early in the day you say Good morning.
When the sun is high you say Good afternoon.
When the sun goes down you say Good evening.
Careful! Good night is not for arriving. You say it when you leave to sleep.
Hello works with a friend at any time of day.
Goodbye is the word for leaving.
You meet somebody for the first time? Say Nice to meet you.
You pass an older person on the path. You greet first.
Stop walking. Look up. Speak clearly.
A greeting is not only words. Your face says it too.
Greet your teacher when you arrive in the morning.
Greet your teacher again when you go home.
Say it to the person, not to the floor.
A greeting takes two seconds.
It tells the other person: I see you.
Walking past without a word feels cold.
Greet the guard, the seller and the neighbour too.

Greetings, a short lesson for P1 children from REB.
