Le corps humain
Lesson 4 of 4
35 min
In French this game is called « Jacques a dit ». In our P4 class we call it « Keza dit ».
The rule: only move when you hear « Keza dit » first. If you move without it, you are out!
Keza : Keza dit : levez les bras !
Keza : Keza dit : touchez vos pieds !
Keza : Keza dit : sautez sur un pied !
Keza : Tapez des mains !
Byiringiro : (Il tape des mains.) Oh non !
Keza : Byiringiro, tu as perdu ! Je n'ai pas dit « Keza dit » !
Byiringiro : Ha ha ! Encore une fois, s'il te plaît !
| French | English |
|---|---|
| lever / baisser | to raise / to lower |
| toucher | to touch |
| sauter | to jump |
| taper des mains | to clap your hands |
| tourner la tête | to turn your head |
| ouvrir / fermer les yeux | to open / to close your eyes |
| marcher, courir | to walk, to run |
| Levez-vous ! / Asseyez-vous ! | Stand up! / Sit down! |
To give an order to the whole class (vous), the verb ends in -ez. To give an order to one friend (tu), take the je form without je.
| To one friend (tu) | To the class (vous) |
|---|---|
| Lève les bras ! | Levez les bras ! |
| Touche ton nez ! | Touchez votre nez ! |
| Saute ! | Sautez ! |
| Ferme les yeux ! | Fermez les yeux ! |
| Tourne la tête ! | Tournez la tête ! |
Now read how Byiringiro talks about what he does with his body after school:
Après l'école, je cours avec mes amis. Je saute à la corde avec ma sœur. Le samedi, je marche jusqu'au terrain et je joue au football. Le soir, je suis fatigué !

Tip
-ez calls everybody. When the teacher speaks to the whole class, the order ends in -ez, like a big 'hey!' for everyone: levez, sautez, touchez, fermez.
What does « Levez les bras ! » mean?
Answer: Raise your arms!
Tell the whole class to jump.
Answer: Sautez !
Tell one friend to touch his nose.
Answer: Touche ton nez !
Why did Byiringiro lose the game?
Answer: Because Keza did not say « Keza dit » before « Tapez des mains ! »
Say one thing you do after school.
Answer: for example: Après l'école, je cours avec mes amis.
