People at Home and at School
Lesson 3 of 5
12 min
Let's begin
Grown-up: read this out loud. Name the child's own teacher and head teacher as you read.
Keza is at school. It is morning.
She sees her teacher. She sees the cook. She sees the head teacher.
Keza wants to say who they are in English. Today you will say it too.
Your school has many people. Learn three of them today.
Say the three words out loud. Say them again.
Ask about one person:
Who is he? He is my teacher.
Who is she? She is my head teacher.
Ask about more than one person:
Who are they? They are my teachers.
For one person you say is. For more than one you say are, and the word takes an -s. You did this with your books.
Many children say: She is teacher. A small word is missing there.
Put my in front of the person:
She is my teacher.
He is my head teacher.
For the cook you can point and say:
This is the cook.
Careful! He is head teacher is not right. Say: He is my head teacher.

A song about my class at school. Listen for desk and chair.
