My Home
Lesson 3 of 5
12 min
Let's begin
Grown-up: read this page out loud. Point at the real things in your room.
Keza sits on a mat in the sitting room.
Her friend says: "Is there a lamp in the bedroom?"
Keza says: "Is there plates in the dining room?" Something is not right.
Today you will say what is in each room.
Look in one room. Name what you can see.
I can see a bed in my bedroom.
I can see a mat in the sitting room.
I can see a lamp on the table.
A lamp is on the table. You use it at night.
A jug has water in it.
A plate has your food on it.
You know this from before. Now you use it in your own house.
One thing: Is there a lamp in the bedroom?
Say: Yes, there is.
Many things: Are there plates in the dining room?
Say: Yes, there are.
Careful! "Is there plates?" is not right. Plates are many, so say are there.
Use your words from before: in, on, under, behind.
The cup is on the table.
The ball is under the bed.
The box is behind the door.
Now say where three things are in your room.
On, in, under. Watch the box and say the words with the song.
