Lesson 2 of 6
12 min
Let's begin
Grown-up: read this page out loud. Let your child say each English word after you.
Keza is at the school gate. Her morning is over.
Her friend Mutesi asks: "What do you do now?"
Keza has many things to say.
Today you will say your whole day, from morning to night.
You go to class.
You listen to your teacher.
You read your book.
Say it out loud: I go to class. I read my book.
You eat your lunch. Lunch is what you eat in the afternoon.
Then you play with your friends.
Say it out loud: I eat my lunch. I play with my friends.
You go home.
You do your homework.
You read a book with your sister.
At night you go to bed.
Now say all of it, in order:
I wake up. I go to school. I go to class. I eat my lunch. I play with my friends. I do my homework. I go to bed.
Say it to somebody at home at night.
Careful! Say only what you do every day.
You will learn other ways to say it in another class.
Say lunch very slowly. The first sound is /l/.
Say play. The first sound is /p/.
Say bed. The first sound is /b/.

Stand up and move with this song. This is one way to play.
