His sister says: "Now write i."

Now find every u. There are two.
Now find every r. There are two.
i is one small stick going down. Then put the dot on top.
The dot goes on last, every time.
u goes down, round at the bottom, up, then down again.
u is a cup. It holds water. Do not turn your cup over!
r goes down, then up and out with a small arm.
Write i, u and r six times each in the dust.
Then write the big ones: I, U and R.
i says /i/. You hear it in pig and in in.
u says /u/. You hear it in cup and in under.
r says /r/. You hear it at the start of rabbit, red and room.
